Ways I can help
I understand that starting therapy can feel challenging. Let's connect for an initial call where you can ask any questions about me or the counselling process. If you decide to move forward, we can schedule an assessment session at a time that works for both of us. During this 50-minute session, we'll discuss your unique needs and determine if I am the right therapist for you.
I strive to create a calm, considered, and centred environment, providing a welcoming and peaceful space for our conversations to take place. I have a private practice in the centre of Manchester where I offer face-to-face sessions, and also provide telephone or online video sessions.
My style
I’m warm, empathetic and approachable, but I’m also direct and ask challenging questions. I pride myself on being an active listener and on taking the time to truly get to know my clients, ensuring that I remember all the details of their inner lives.
One-to-one therapy
At my private practice in the centre of Manchester, I provide a private and comfortable space for therapy sessions. It’s a lovely, welcoming environment where you can feel at ease and open up about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Online therapy
In addition to face-to-face sessions, I provide online sessions and sessions over the phone. This allows you to access therapy from the comfort of your own space or when you are unable to attend in person. Whether it's through video calls or phone conversations, I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for your healing and growth journey.

What types of issues or conditions do you specialise in treating?
What can I expect during a therapy session?
During a therapy session, you can expect a confidential and non-judgmental space where you have the opportunity to explore your thoughts, emotions, and concerns. Our discussions will be guided by your unique needs and goals. I will actively listen, offer support, and provide insights to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself.
We may work on developing coping strategies, exploring patterns of behaviour, and setting achievable goals. The therapeutic process is collaborative, and you are encouraged to share at your own pace. Expect a respectful and empathetic environment where we work together to navigate challenges, promote self-discovery, and foster positive change.
How long does each session last, and how often should I expect to attend sessions?
Each counselling session lasts for a “therapeutic hour”, which is typically about 50 minutes of therapy. This duration allows for a focused and meaningful exploration of your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Establishing consistency is an integral part of the therapeutic process, and we'll meet at the same time and on the same day each week to provide stability and structure.
This routine helps create a safe space for reflection and growth. We can discuss any adjustments that may be needed to better accommodate your unique needs.
Our work together may be long-term or short-term. The decision to end therapy rests entirely with you, and sessions will continue until you feel that you've reached your desired level of personal growth.
What is your therapeutic approach or counselling style?
My therapeutic style is rooted in person-centred principles, which value the individual's unique experiences and perspectives. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions.
While taking a person-centred approach, I also recognise the importance of working collaboratively with clients in the present moment and adapting my approach to suit the evolving therapeutic process. This flexibility allows me to tailor interventions and strategies to the specific needs of each individual, fostering a dynamic and effective therapeutic relationship.
What are the potential outcomes or goals we will work towards?
In our therapeutic journey, our goals will be tailored to your individual aspirations and challenges. Whether it's managing stress, improving relationships, or enhancing self-esteem, we'll collaboratively set achievable objectives. Potential outcomes include gaining insight into patterns of thinking and behaviour, developing coping strategies, and fostering a deeper understanding of yourself.
The aim is to empower you to navigate life's complexities with resilience and to achieve a sense of well-being. As we progress, we'll regularly reassess your goals to ensure that they align with your evolving needs and aspirations, ultimately guiding you toward a path of positive growth and self-discovery.
What is the confidentiality policy, and what are the limits to confidentiality?
Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our therapeutic relationship. Everything discussed during our sessions is held in strict confidence.
However, it's crucial to be aware of the limits to confidentiality. If, at any point, there is a concern for your safety or the safety of others, I have a duty of care to address this. This may involve collaboration with relevant parties, such as your GP, to ensure appropriate support is provided. It's a rare occurrence, but I must also emphasise that I have a legal obligation to disclose information related to money laundering, drug trafficking, and terrorism immediately. I am committed to transparent communication about these limitations to maintain a trusting and ethical therapeutic environment.
